2006 SQ372's unusual orbit is an ellipse that is four times longer than it is wide, the only known object with a comparable orbit is Sedna — the Pluto-like dwarf planet discovered in 2003.
Sedna, a rocky object located three times farther from the Sun than Pluto, is estimated to take 10,500-12,000 years to travel once around the Sun. The last time Sedna was this close to the Sun, Earth was just coming out of the last ice age.
Its extreme elliptical orbit is described as 'unlike anything seen by astronomers,' however, it resembles that of objects predicted to lie in the 'hypothetical' Oort cloud (a spherical cloud of comets believed to lie roughly 50,000 AU, or nearly a light-year, from the Sun). It's thought to explain the existence of certain comets and believed to surround our own Sun and extend outward, halfway to Proxima Centauri (Alpha Centauri C), the star closest to us.
Sedna however, is 10 times closer than the predicted distance of the Oort cloud, leaving it a mystery.
Most astronomers have now concluded though, that Sedna and other Kuiper Belt oddities (a region of space beyond Neptune littered with icy, rocky bodies), could be explained by an undiscovered world, orbiting between 100 AU and 200 AU from the Sun. An AU is an Astronomical Unit. One AU is the distance from Earth to the Sun (93 million miles or 149.6 million kilometers). Pluto, what was the most distant of the planets, is at 39 AU; the Kuiper Belt, extends from 30 AU to maybe 1,000 AU.
At that distance, any water on any world's surface would be completely frozen, but, it could support a subsurface ocean like those suspected to exist on the moons Titan and Enceladus.
Over and over again, researchers have proposed the existence of an unseen, unknown, and undiscovered 'icy world' that may very well lurk beyond Pluto, just at the fringe of our solar system. Something no telescope has yet detected.
That hidden world — thought to be much bigger than Pluto, could very well explain unusual features of the Kuiper Belt. Its existence would satisfy long-held hopes for a "Planet X," the undiscovered planet, possibly brown dwarf (a dark, failed star) envisioned by both scientists and conspiracy buffs.
But what's so unusual about the Kupier Belt? You see, if you travel out to the far edge of the solar system, into the frigid wastes beyond Pluto, you'll see something really strange. After passing through the Kuiper belt, there's nothing.
Astronomers call it the Kuiper 'cliff,' because the density of space rocks drop off steeply.
What caused it? Well, a 10th planet (if you count Pluto), according to some.
But, we're not talking about a Pluto or Sedna sized rock here, this is something much bigger, possibly as big as Earth or Mars, that has swept the area clean of debris.
The evidence for this 10th planet is compelling, but although calculations show that such a body would account for the Kuiper cliff, no one has ever seen the fabled planet.
There's a good reason for that though. The Kuiper belt is just too far away to get a decent view and Planet X, would have an oblong elliptical solar orbit and circle the Earth every thousand or so years.
Ever hear of Pioneer 10 & 11? Both spacecrafts were launched in the early 70's and are now, drifting off into deep space with no one watching. However, their trajectories have proven far too fascinating to ignore. The explanation? Something's pulling, or pushing on them, causing them to speed up. Researchers aware of this, have labeled it 'The Pioneer Anomaly.
At present, there is no universally accepted explanation for this phenomenon. Software errors, the solar wind or a fuel leak, have already been ruled out. If the cause is some sort of gravitational effect, it is not one we know anything about. Physicists are dumbfounded, many ideas have been brought forth, but none of which can be demonstrated.
There's also been talk regarding something out there, beyond the orbit of Pluto that will account for the anomalies detected in the orbits of Neptune and Uranus. An unseen body seems to be tugging at them. The finding was first reported in the June 19, 1982 edition of the New York Times:
"Something out there beyond the furthest reaches of the known solar system is tugging at Uranus and Neptune. A gravitational force keeps perturbing the two giant planets, causing irregularities in their orbits. The force suggests a presence far away and unseen, of a large object, the long-sought Planet X. Astronomers are so certain of this planet's existence that they have already named it "Planet X - the 10th Planet."
The Washington Post reported:
"A heavenly body possibly as large as the giant planet Jupiter and possibly so close to Earth that it would be part of this solar system has been found in the direction of the constellation Orion by an orbiting telescope aboard the U.S. infrared astronomical satellite. So mysterious is the object that astronomers do not know if it is a planet, a giant comet, a nearby 'protostar' that never got hot enough to become a star, a distant galaxy so young that it is still in the process of forming its first stars or a galaxy so shrouded in dust that none of the light cast by its stars ever gets through."
We ourselves, really need to get out there and have a look, but guess what? Although we've apparently already been working on that, it won't be possible for almost another decade. NASA launched a probe called New Horizons in 2006, which is headed towards Pluto and the Kuiper belt, but it won't reach Pluto until 2015.
However, even though that may be some years away, believe it or not, Japanese scientists are seeking it too, claiming they actually 'eyed' the mysterious 'Planet X.'
They've gone on record stating that they believed another planet, up to two-thirds the size of the Earth, was orbiting the far reaches of the solar system.
Using computer simulations, researchers at Kobe University in western Japan, said calculations have led them to conclude it was only a matter of time before the mysterious "Planet X" was found.
The summary stated: "The possibility is high that a yet unknown, planet-class celestial body, measuring 30 percent to 70 percent of the Earth's mass, exists in the outer edges of the solar system."
They further stated that "if research is conducted on a wide scale, the planet is likely to be discovered in less than 10 years."
Planet of the Crossing
The Sumerian culture, the first recorded civilization on Earth, have been known throughout history by several names. Sumer, Mesopotamia, and Babylon, they're all the same. The Sumerian culture is the oldest known civilization we know of, based on artifacts and the monuments that still remain in existence.
Cuneiform stone tablets and writings from Sumeria (now 6,000 year old), do mention something really peculiar though.
It translates to "Planet of the Crossing."
The Sumerian culture, having the oldest written language in existence, recorded stories that have been preserved through modern day biblical passages found in the Old and New Testaments. All which speak of a time when man lived among Gods, here on Earth.
The Sumerians had 7 sacred tablets that explained creation. These stories, preserved in stone, are now known as the "7 Days of Creation." To some, their culture was the first to introduce a story of a great flood, reliefs tell of how one of the Gods, chose to give a Sumerian man knowledge on how to build a boat that could withstand the oncoming flood.
They wrote that their Gods taught them all the knowledge that their culture possessed. They called their Gods, "Anunnaki," which has been translated to "Those Who From Heaven to Earth Came."
Artifacts and stone tablets of their culture, seem to indicate that the Anunnaki came from another planet within our very own solar system. They called this planet "Nibiru." The Anunnaki are said to have lived on Nibiru, which apparently has a 3,600 year orbit around our Sun.
As if that weren't enough, other discoveries seem to include the color of the outer planets, their correct orbit around our Sun, and even the distance between the planets.
It should be noted that, at the time of this discovery, Pluto hadn't been discovered, so scientists weren't really sure what to make of this diagram. The relief depicted Pluto and another two planets. Eris (officially founded as a dwarf planet in 2005), is thought to be one of them.
Looking back into history, it's been thought by some that many of academic references to the origins of writing, math, science, music, medicine, astronomy, and more, have lead back to their culture.
Ever hear of Wormwood?
10 The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the water, because it had been made bitter.
12 The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the Sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of their light might be darkened, and a third of the day might be kept from shining, and likewise a third of the night.
It's been suggested that Nibiru is just that -- Wormwood. That its unusual elliptical orbit will wind up shooting it across our solar system, brushing up against Earth - causing chaos. That effects from its approach are being felt right now.
Proponents of the theory cite earthquake and weather data as evidence of its growing influence on Earth, pointing out that its final approach will be biblical. It'll rip open volcanoes, create massive earthquakes, unleash massive tsunamis; global warming will continue to increase, more drought, and even killer solar flares will be caused by Nibiru's passing. Millions, even billions of people would die because of it.
Some have even suggested that it's approach will even kick Earth’s axis over, pushing Africa to the North pole and Antarctica to the equator. Some have gone as far as to propose that it may even stop Earth from rotating.
Our own Sun is said to have a twin, thought to be a destructive Brown Dwarf. Is it possible that our solar system really contains this giant, unnamed planet-star, that could tear Earth apart as it passes through?
Is there a planet out there that returns every 3,600 years as the Sumerians have suggested? Can a civilization that's offered so much be ignored?
Can all of it simply be ignored? Science can't seem to, will you?
